My work focuses on understanding highly distributed systems, such as molecular and micro-biology, through the lens of quantitative analysis and complex systems. I also design and implement algorithms for distributed swarms of artificial agents such as autonomous robots. My areas of experience include machine learning, high-performance computing, swarm robotics, and complexity science.

As a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Mexico, I am the technical lead for the NASA Swarmathon swarm robotics challenge at Kennedy Space Center. I am also an Applications Scientist at the UNM Center for Advanced Research ComputingMy research has been published in Nature Communications, Frontiers in Immunology, Methods in Molecular Biology, BioPhysical Chemistry, Robotica, PLoS Computational Biology, and PLoS ONE. Conference publication venues include ECAL, ICRA, IROS, and GECCO.
