Wayne Just
Wayne is a PhD. student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of New Mexico. His research interests include spiking neural networks with a focus on continuous online learning and decision-making in robotic systems. His recent work has been teaching CS4All, an introductory course designed for students new to computing and focusing on the cross disciplinary aspects of computer science for high school and college students. He currently works as the IC-Mars project coordinator for Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) building a functional robotics lab in a physically simulated Martian environment with support for teleoperation and long distance learning. He is active in SIPI outreach programs to high schools and other tribal colleges focusing on inspiring interest in STEM at all levels of education.
